Serendipity

Hello everyone! Previously I wrote a story in my blog titled 'Storytime', this time I am here with my second story based on dreams and superheroes.

The first half of the story revolves around a 10-year-old girl, Nara. A day at school is portrayed where she finally realizes her dream. The second half is about her teenage and when realizes life doesn't go our way. The plot changes when we see her as an adult doing a job she never thought of but which changed her life.

SERENDIPITY

1) Plot 1-

“Nara, get up already, finish your breakfast”

“Are you still not gonna get up?”

“Mom, he is gonna do the high kick though”

“If you are not getting up from that place, you will gonna have a high kick from me”

“Stop shouting, I can’t even concentrate on my newspaper these mornings”

“DAD!, where are my boots?”

“I told u yesterday Nara sleep before packing up everything for the morning”

At a distance the bus honks

“Mom!, Dad! I’m getting late bye”

The door slammed and the bus rushes with the little 10-year kiddo.

School bell rings

“Good morning ma’am”

“Good morning everyone, remember I told you’ll to write an essay on your future and what you want to become when you get older?”

“Yes ma’am!!!” a loud response made Ms. Guo happy.

“So, let's start”

“Who’s gonna start with their essay”

The enthusiastic crowd filled the room with giggles and loud answers.

“Ok, let's start with Nara this time”

“Y-Y-Yes ma’am”

“Are you ready?”

“N-No, Yes ma’am”

“So come over”

“Hi everyone! I am Nara, ever since my brother introduced me to the euphoric world of heroes, I decided what I wanted to become….”

A silent class filled with questions gazed at her, thinking what was she going to answer.

“I thought of becoming a hero… a-a real-life hero”

The class burst out in laughter.

“Silence everyone, cooperate with your classmate”

“I-I want to save people who are living a miserable life, I want to fight the villains and I want everyone to lead a life where they are happy just by thinking of me that I will save them. Thank you!”

“That was great Nara, but can I ask you something?”

“Sure ma’am”

“Have you seen a real-life hero?”

“Y-Yes I see him every day”

“Can I know who is he?”

“My dad, whenever I think of something he buys me that, whenever I am crying he is by my side, just his thought makes me feel assured”

“Well that was a well choice of answer Nara”

The school bell rang and everyone rushed towards the playground for the next period.

A day at school finally ended. Nara was so keen to tell about her dreams and how her day went by to her parents. Thinking and arranging all thoughts while others were playing on the bus.

The house doorbell rang.

“Hey, mom! How are you? What did you make for lunch? I am so hungry right now, today so many things happened at school, but do you know what-“

“Wait, first wash up, then you can brag all about it”

“Ok mom”

Nara rushed towards the washroom as soon it was time for her favorite cartoon.

“I want to get older soon, and see more things”

Time passed by, some days filled with enthusiasm, some filled with anger and she reached her teenage just like that.

2) Plot 2-

“Mom, dad, get up already, I am done making the food, let's eat, fast”

“Nara, wait a minute the match is gonna end soon”

“They are not going to win, it’s a fixing”

An announcement popped up from the television, “And they won, what a defeat”

“I rooted for you people just so we can see you lose”

Everyone hurried towards the dining table, as the smell of curry filled the room with aroma.

“You are all grown up”

“Stop saying that mom”

“I am so angry, how can we lose such a game?”

“Can you stop talking about it on the table at least”

“Dad, did they come to feed you for rooting over them? No right, why do you mind them, they gave their best today, eat instead.”

“When you were young did the superheroes feed you for seeing them?”

“Mom that was a mere cartoon, that doesn’t exist in real life”

“Indeed you understood it now”

Years passed by and Nara grew up as an adult. She wasn’t a superhero but she became a person who gave superheroes to children. A novelist and a book writer. The government was felicitating her for her wonderful work this day.

A crowd with profound writers attended the great ceremony. The ceremony started.

"And the award for the best writer goes to Ms. Nara"

“She is a rookie writer who earned fame and honor on different platforms.”

“Hello everyone, this is Nara, I debuted with my work last year, and children and also people of different age groups loved my work and here I am with their love and support”

“You are indeed a gifted writer, now a lot of people asked me this question and wanted me to convey you”

“O-Ok sure”

“What was your inspiration about heroes and what was your first dream of becoming in real life?”

“This is a question that is quite nostalgic, my childhood was quite fun, my parents were joyful and were lenient about quite a lot of stuff. My first dream job or work was becoming a superhero, bringing a smile to people in despair and bringing relief to all the people so that they can sleep assured that I’m for their rescue, but when we face the reality, we forget our dreams, we forget all we think of. My inspiration was my parents who always brought a smile to my face, helped me through all the times, and made me feel assured about everything. I don’t want to make this a little emotional but dream, you can dream but next time think, will it be applicable in real life?

For me, where I am, I think I am a superwoman, I can bring smiles to my readers' faces, I am not being a narcissist but they feel assured that a character I created is there saving their lives, I am a hero in someone’s life at least.”

“Well, it was such a fine saying thanks Ms.”

In the end, always be happy that someone is happy for you existing and you are a hero in your own life.
